Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
1-Decanesulphonic Acid Sodium Salt Monohydrate 99% For HPLC (CAS No. 13419-61-9) is the monohydrated form of sodium decane-1-sulphonate, an anionic alkylsulphonate containing a hydrophobic ten-carbon chain and a polar sulphonate group. Each formula unit includes one equivalent of water of crystallisation in addition to the sodium decanesulphonate salt. Upon dissolution, the decanesulphonate anion provides the ion-associating functionality required for interaction with positively charged analytes in liquid chromatographic systems.
The HPLC grade is intended for reversed-phase ion-pair chromatographic procedures requiring an alkylsulphonate counterion to influence the retention and separation of ionic substances. It is useful in mobile-phase preparation for the analysis of basic organic compounds, protonated nitrogen-containing analytes and other suitable cationic species. The defined monohydrate composition is relevant when preparing reagent solutions by mass, while the decanesulphonate anion contributes to chromatographic selectivity through ion-association and stationary-phase interactions.
