Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Aluminium Isopropoxide 98% Extra Pure (CAS No. 555-31-7) is an aluminium alkoxide in which an aluminium centre is associated with isopropoxide groups. Its metal–alkoxide structure enables it to participate in alkoxide exchange, catalytic hydrogen-transfer chemistry, and controlled hydrolysis–condensation processes. These characteristics give the compound dual importance as an organic-synthesis reagent and as a precursor for aluminium-containing inorganic and ceramic materials.
The Extra Pure grade is intended for routine preparative chemistry, reaction research, catalyst-assisted transformations, and materials-development work requiring a reliable source of aluminium isopropoxide. It is particularly suited to carbonyl-transfer reactions, alcoholysis and ester-exchange procedures, the preparation of other aluminium derivatives, and sol–gel investigations in which an aluminium alkoxide is used as the starting material.
Typical Applications
Its use in carbonyl reduction, ester-exchange chemistry, and the preparation of alkoxides and chelates is documented by chemical suppliers, while research literature establishes aluminium isopropoxide as a precursor for alumina and aluminosilicate materials.

Storage Conditions
Store under an inert gas in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated location. Protect the material from atmospheric moisture, air, heat, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources. Minimise exposure during dispensing and reseal the container immediately after use to preserve product quality.
