Product Overview
Ammonium Acetate 98% AR/ACS (CAS No. 631-61-8) is the ammonium salt of acetic acid and dissociates in aqueous solution to provide ammonium and acetate ions. Because both ions originate from weak acid–base systems, the salt is useful in preparing buffered or composition-controlled media without introducing metallic counterions. Its ready ionic availability supports solution preparation, equilibrium studies, and analytical procedures involving ammonium or acetate species.
The AR/ACS grade is intended for analytical reagent preparation, quality-control testing, research, and academic laboratory work where controlled composition and restricted reagent-derived impurities are important. It is suitable for preparing analytical solutions and buffer systems, maintaining defined ionic conditions, and supporting wet-chemical procedures in which a high-quality, non-metallic acetate reagent is required.

Storage Conditions
Store in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated location. Protect the material from atmospheric moisture and contamination, as ammonium acetate readily absorbs moisture. Reseal the container promptly after dispensing to preserve its composition and analytical reagent quality.
