Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Benzene 99.8% For HPLC & UV Spectroscopy (CAS No. 71-43-2) is the parent monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, defined by a planar six-membered ring with a delocalised π-electron system. Its low polarity and uniform aromatic environment provide distinctive solvating characteristics for hydrophobic and weakly polar organic compounds. Benzene also exhibits intrinsic ultraviolet absorption, making solvent purity and selection of a compatible measurement wavelength important in optical applications.
The HPLC & UV Spectroscopy grade is intended for liquid-chromatographic and spectrophotometric procedures requiring control of extraneous ultraviolet-absorbing impurities, non-volatile residues, and particulate contamination. It is appropriate for normal-phase HPLC methods that specifically prescribe benzene as a mobile phase or mobile-phase component, for preparing compatible sample and standard solutions, and for UV measurements performed within spectral regions where benzene provides an acceptable solvent blank.

Storage Conditions
Store in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. Protect from direct sunlight, excessive heat, ignition sources, evaporation, and contamination. Minimise unnecessary container opening and use clean, solvent-compatible dispensing equipment to preserve chromatographic and spectroscopic cleanliness.
