Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Di-iso-Propyl Ether 99% AR/ACS (Stabilized with BHT) (CAS No. 108-20-3) is a low-polarity aliphatic ether that separates readily from aqueous media and provides an organic phase for solvent extraction and partition-based analytical procedures. Its ether oxygen offers limited donor capability while the two branched isopropyl groups confer hydrophobic character. Butylated hydroxytoluene is incorporated as a stabiliser to slow oxidative peroxide formation during storage.
The AR/ACS grade is intended for conventional analytical extraction, sample preparation and reagent-solution procedures in which diisopropyl ether is method-compatible. Its 99% assay does not establish a universal solvent blank, water limit or suitability for instrumental solvent grades. The BHT content must also be considered where the adopted procedure is sensitive to stabilisers or antioxidant additives.

Storage Conditions
Store tightly closed, protected from air, direct light, excessive heat, evaporation and contamination, while preserving the supplied BHT stabiliser system. Maintain appropriate peroxide monitoring throughout storage and check solvent condition before concentration or distillation. Avoid prolonged or repeated opening because increased air exposure can promote peroxide development and consume part of the stabiliser system.
