Product Description

Detailed information about the product

Product Overview

Hydrochloric Acid 32% AR (CAS No. 7647-01-0) is a concentrated analytical solution of hydrogen chloride in water. It creates strongly acidic chloride-containing media used for dissolution, neutralisation, sample conditioning and numerous classical wet-chemical reactions. Chloride complex formation can also influence the solubility and chemical behaviour of selected metal ions during analytical treatment.

The AR grade is intended for conventional analytical chemistry, quality-control laboratories and preparation of analytical reagent solutions. Its 32% concentration provides a concentrated source for accurately prepared working solutions and method-defined sample treatments. It is appropriate for titrimetric, gravimetric, qualitative inorganic and dissolution procedures that specifically require hydrochloric acid of analytical-reagent character.

Typical Applications

  • Preparation of hydrochloric acid analytical working solutions
  • Titrimetric neutralisation procedures after standardisation
  • Dissolution of compatible inorganic analytical samples
  • Preparation of acidic chloride media for metal-ion analysis
  • Gravimetric and precipitation procedures requiring hydrochloric acid
  • Qualitative inorganic analysis and sample conditioning
  • Laboratory quality-control reagent preparation

Common Synonyms

  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Hydrogen chloride solution
  • Aqueous hydrogen chloride
  • Muriatic acid
  • Chlorhydric acid

Storage Conditions

Maintain in a tightly closed container and minimise exposure to heat and open air to preserve the stated concentration. Protect from analytical contamination and use clean dedicated transfer equipment when blank quality and reproducible reagent preparation are important.
