Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
iso-Amyl Acetate 98% For Synthesis (CAS No. 123-92-2) is a branched-chain acetate ester formed from acetic acid and isoamyl alcohol. Its ester functionality and organic-solvent character make it useful as a reaction medium, extraction solvent, and substrate in investigations involving ester chemistry. The compound is also commonly recognised by its characteristic commercial name, banana oil.
The Synthesis grade is intended for preparative organic chemistry, reaction-development work, laboratory formulation, and general research procedures requiring a dependable iso-amyl acetate reagent. It is suitable for use as a solvent in compatible synthetic systems, during reaction work-up and extraction, and in studies involving ester hydrolysis, transesterification, or solvent–material interactions.
