Product Description

Detailed information about the product

Product Overview

Karl Fischer Reagent is a prepared single-solution, pyridine-free reagent intended for volumetric determination of water by Karl Fischer titration. The formulation integrates the reactive components required for the characteristic stoichiometric consumption of water within one reagent system, allowing water content to be determined from the measured volume and established reagent titre.

The said product of Karl Fischer Reagent is synthesised in a single-solution form and is free of pyridine & chlorinated hydrocarbons. It is intended for routine volumetric Karl Fischer moisture analysis without requiring separate titrant components during normal titration operation. Moreover, it is best suited for aldehydes and ketones.

Typical Applications

  • Volumetric Karl Fischer determination of water
  • Moisture determination in compatible organic solvents
  • Water determination in laboratory chemicals and reagents
  • Analysis of compatible oils, liquids and dissolved solid samples
  • Preparation of Karl Fischer titration systems for routine quality control
  • Reagent titre determination using an appropriate water standard
  • Method verification for volumetric moisture analysis

Common Synonyms

  • Karl Fischer reagent
  • KF reagent
  • Karl Fischer titration reagent
  • Pyridine-free Karl Fischer reagent
  • Single-solution Karl Fischer reagent
  • One-component Karl Fischer reagent

Storage Conditions

Keep tightly closed and protect from atmospheric moisture, excessive heat, direct light and contamination because water uptake can alter reagent titre and analytical response. Minimise exposure during transfer and titrator replenishment and preserve the solution from dilution or evaporation-related concentration changes.
