Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Mercuric Iodide Red 99% AR/ACS (CAS No. 7774-29-0) is analytical-reagent red mercury(II) iodide, HgI₂. It forms strongly iodide-coordinated mercury complexes in excess iodide and provides the mercury component used in classical mercury–iodide analytical reagent systems.
The AR/ACS grade is intended for conventional analytical reagent preparation and Hg(II)/iodide chemistry. It is particularly relevant to preparation of alkaline tetraiodomercurate reagent systems used in classical ammonia determination, as well as solution-equilibrium and complexation studies involving mercury(II) and iodide.

Storage Conditions
Store tightly closed and protected from direct light, excessive heat and analytical contamination. Preserve the red form and avoid unnecessary heating that may promote reversible polymorphic conversion.
