Product Overview

Potassium Dichromate 99.9% AR (CAS No. 7778-50-9) is the dipotassium salt of the dichromate(VI) anion and a well-characterised inorganic oxidising reagent. In acidic solution, dichromate provides reproducible stoichiometric redox chemistry through reduction of chromium(VI), while its solution speciation is linked to chromate–dichromate and protonation equilibria. These characteristics have made dichromate chemistry important in classical oxidimetric analysis and chemical-oxygen-demand procedures.

The AR grade is intended for conventional analytical reagent preparation, oxidimetric work, wet-chemical oxidation procedures and laboratory QC where potassium dichromate is specified. It may be used to prepare working oxidant solutions that are subsequently standardised according to the applicable method.
