Silica Gel GF 254 For Thin Layer Chromatography (CAS No. 112926-00-8) is a silica-based TLC adsorbent combining the G binder designation with an F254 fluorescent indicator system. The silica surface provides polar normal-phase adsorption, while the binder supports adherence of coated layers to the plate. The F254 functionality enables visualisation under ultraviolet radiation near 254 nm when UV-absorbing sample zones reduce or quench the fluorescence of the background layer.

The Thin Layer Chromatography form is intended for preparation of bonded-to-plate silica layers with built-in short-wave UV visualisation capability. It supports rapid reaction monitoring, qualitative identity comparison and purity assessment without requiring every analyte to be chemically derivatised for detection.
