Sulphuric Acid 98% AR (CAS No. 7664-93-9) is a concentrated analytical sulphuric acid reagent at the specified 98% strength. Its strong diprotic acidity and dehydrating behaviour support conventional digestion, acidification, titrimetric and sulphate-related wet chemistry. Sulphuric acid also provides a high-acidity matrix for oxidation and sample-treatment procedures in which sulphate is compatible with the analytical method.

The AR grade is intended for conventional analytical digestion, acidification, titrimetric reagent preparation and laboratory quality-control procedures. It is particularly useful in wet-chemical methods requiring a strong mineral acid for controlled sample treatment or reaction-medium preparation.
