Detailed information about the product
Product Overview
Tris Buffer 99.5% AR/HPLC (CAS No. 77-86-1) is tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane, a highly water-soluble amino alcohol that accepts protons through its primary amine and forms effective aqueous buffering systems in the near-neutral to mildly alkaline range. Its buffering equilibrium is strongly influenced by temperature, making control of preparation and measurement temperature relevant whenever reproducible buffer pH is required.
The AR/HPLC grade is intended for analytical reagent preparation and chromatographic buffer systems requiring controlled Tris quality. In conventional liquid chromatography, Tris is useful as an aqueous mobile-phase buffer in method-appropriate separations, particularly ion-exchange and biomolecule chromatography where control of pH influences analyte charge and retention. The grade is also suited to analytical buffer preparation, sample-treatment solutions and laboratory procedures in which reagent purity and reproducible buffer composition are important.
